Q1: Let's say I have started reading some publishing manga on Novice section and i completed 10 mangas on Novice section including them. Before jumping to the Apprentice section should i have to add finished dates on these publishing mangas or finished dates for these publishing mangas have to be the date when I turn in the form if I complete more levels than just novice.
Yes, you should add finished dates for those when you jump to the next tier.
You have to be caught up with the latest chapter for the stage you are at. You can state the latest chapter at the time of completing the stage and move on to the next. Afterwards you don't have to be up-to-date for said title.

Ok, thanks for the help.

May I use Himitsu no Recipe for #15 "Read a manga about food, music, or art." It's about a cooking club, so it should be fine. I just want to make sure it's legit since there is no appropriate genre tag.

Just finished Novice difficulty.
Been wondering if I should delete every items I didn't use as my 10 challenge picks, or if it's fine leaving a bunch of unused challenge items in the spoiler?

In the advanced section:
"Read a manga with only one English letter in the title"

What exactly does this mean? The title is just one letter long, like "A", "B", "C" etc.?

It can either be a title like "X" (by CLAMP) or "Tasogare Otome x Amnesia". As long as there's a word consting of one letter or a single letter. Special symbols are excluded, thus "English letter".

Hey!
Silly question, but for "(Ap.11) Read a manga that started serialization after 2016" do I have to use manga that started serialization in 2017 and later?

A collection of short stories about adventure, huh?

Wanted comes to mind, although I haven't read it.
Nickelodeon has a few of those if I remember correctly, but not many.

can someone suggest a good 50+ volume manga?..apart from kingdom; and no sports or shoujo. and something that either has no anime adaptation or a bad one (like onepiece).

also this time we're allowed to read 2 or more items simultaneously in one section, for example i am allowed to read number 12 and 10 from Novice challenge, right?

You might want to go either with Sangokushi (or Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru, which is sports, though). I haven't read them, but they might fit your taste and they are complete.

Oh, sure. As long as they are in the same tier you are allowed to read as many as you want simultaneously.

I'm pretty sure that's on the sign-in page, but basically yeah, you can choose on-going but you have to read it from the start and be up-to-date with it by the time you turn in your sheet.

I have a few general questions:

-Hentai is perfectly fine to use for the Challenge, yes? I tend to read a good amount of it and there is currently a lot that I'm interested in reading so it's becoming a bit of a staple of my Challenge. Just want to make sure before I get too deep into it.

-Assuming hentai is good to use, should I put any kind of content warning on my sign-up form? I know the pictures for hentai are censored in MAL entries, but typically only the most minimum amount needed is blocked out and the pictures can still be VERY sexual. If a content warning would be appreciated, where is the best place to put it in my form?

-Yet another hentai question, there is a "Read a manga ranked BELOW [target number]" item at every level, but all hentai is listed as ranked N/A because R18+ stuff isn't included in the rankings. Would it be acceptable to use hentai for these items and just show the score and where it would have fallen if it was included in the rankings by use of screenshots, or should these items just not be used for hentai?

-Would it be possible to get a pre-check on my sign-up form so far so I can make sure everything in my Novice level is good to go? I'm a little concerned that I could end up with issues on a lower level during final turn-in and that it could completely screw up my list because of the leveled structure of the Challenge this year. But if you're worried about "opening the floodgates" of people asking for checks, no worries.

And I think that's all I have at the moment. Thank you and have a great day! ^_^

hentai is fine

everyone in the staff is of age, and hentai are normally p obvious by the name but I don't think it would hurt

you gotta use non-hentai

ask a current staffer for a pre-check but i'd assume no.

There's no need to worry. If you make a mistake, an inspector will get in touch with you, point it out and you will be given time to fix it. But if they notice a pattern, which makes it seem like... going the easy way...for moving up to the next tier, they can still call you out on it. Just make sure you fulfill the requirements in all conscience and you're good to go! :)

Well, the specific concern, which I expressed over in the Anime Watching Challenge Discussion, is that if you have to watch/read something new to fix a lower level item. Like, if for example, I was told that reading Houkago Play 2 doesn't fit the "Read a manga with a number in the title" item because the "2" just represents that it is a sequel in a series and that I need to read something like Alice 19th or Alien 9 instead. If I found this out at turn-in, I'd have to read something new and the dates wouldn't fit properly into the "Novice" level since all items in a level have to be completed with dates before the next level is started, making my list only creditable for "Novice" completion. As far as I know, there hasn't been a solution presented for this problem.

Just gave your novice tier a quick look over and it all seems fine. I don't think there's anyone on the staff that would have a problem with Hokago Play 2 being used for that item so you should be alright. If you do need to change something for an item at turn in you can read something else (or switch the items around) without invalidating the tiers after that one, since you still completed the tier before moving on

@Ironclad_Cobra
Thanks for checking it out for me. Yeah, I feel like Houkago Play 2 should be fine, too. That was just the first nit-pick of something that could go wrong out of my current spread that I could think of. I think I'm just a little jittery about this new structure and this is also my first time going for the MRC after doing the AWC the previous two years. The items for this seem a little more flexible/vague than the anime version, which is both refreshing and concerning at the same time. Hopefully everything goes smoothly, though! ^_^

Since this time we're going with tiers, you need to be up to date with ongoing manga before moving on to the next level.
But if it's Expert you can do it whenever. :)
